What is a Neodymium (NdFeB) Alloy?

Neodymium magnets are a specialized alloy composed of Neodymium (Nd), Iron (Fe), and Boron (B). Neodymium is classified as a rare-earth element on the periodic table. Together, this mixture creates the most powerful permanent magnet commercially available today. The Manufacturing Process and Protective Coatings

Gauss and Pull Force (The N-Series Grades)

The strength of neodymium magnets is typically graded from N35 to N52. The number following the "N" (which stands for Neodymium) represents the Maximum Energy Product (measured in Mega Gauss Oersted, or MGOe) of the material. The higher this number, the stronger the pull force the magnet generates.

While an N35 grade is perfectly adequate for standard industrial holding applications, an N52 grade is preferred in aerospace or advanced engineering tasks where immense power is required in a very restricted space.
